In most cases, the brown wire is the audio mute wire. This wire is connected to a switch inside the vehicle, usually on the dashboard, that allows you to control whether or not the power is sent to the antenna. The Blue wire (power antenna) wire is responsible for sending power to the antenna, which raises and lowers the antenna mast. Grounding helps reduce interference and provides a safe path for electrical current in the event of a short circuit. This is usually connected to the chassis of the vehicle, which acts as a grounding point. The black wire in a car stereo indicates the ground connection. Without this wire, the stereo system will not be able to function.

This wire is responsible for providing power to the stereo system when the car is turned on. The red wire in a car stereo system is the 12 volt ignition wire. Check your car stereo’s instruction manual to be sure. The Pioneer wiring harness color code is typically standard on most models, however, there can be variations between models.
